11/08/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Midland, TX Kat is an athletic 1B/OF prospect who continues to showcase her skills on the diamond. In the field, Kat shows fluid footwork and moves well laterally. She gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of her body. Her exchange is quick and she gains ground well on her throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to her target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. She shows smooth rhythm and engages her lower half well. She generates fast bat speed through the zone and produces loud contact and gap to gap power. Overall, Kat is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.
01/17/2020 - 2020 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament Kat is a Softball Factory veteran and a 3-time Pre-Season All American. Kat is able to contribute on the mound and in the box. On the mound, she works ahead in counts and sets a good pace. She is able to keep her composure and work through tough innings. In the box, she works the count and is able to hit to all fields. She shows power to her pull side. Our coaching staff enjoys working with Kat and are excited to see her take her game to the collegiate level.
11/23/2019 - SF 2019 Fall Classic National Showcase - 16u Participant Good range at 2B. Quick feet and sets up well every pitch. Soft hands when fielding.
11/20/2019 - Under Armour Softball Factory Fall Classic - 16U Adeline Kat Laxson is a 2022 RHP and infielder who hits from the left side and has a developed skill set. In the infield, Adeline has an athletic fielding position and strong first step. She is agile in her range and has a great drop step back. She presents her glove to the ball early and has a clean exchange. Her throw is accurate and her release is strong over the top. Offensively, Adeline has a square setup and soft stride to the ball. She loads well into her lower half and her rhythm is fluid. She extends through well and has a fast barrel through the zone. She makes hard contact consistently and can hit line-drives with power to all fields. She makes adjustments every pitch and has good pitch selection. In the circle, Adeline has a calm presence and good balance. She has a free arm action and open hip direction. Her mechanics are clean and she accelerates well from her lower half. By utilizing her change, she is able to mix speeds and keep batters on their toes. Overall, Adeline is coachable, a hard worker, and great teammate.
01/18/2019 - 2019 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament Adeline is a 2022 right handed pitcher with a developing skill set. In the circle, she is athletic and balanced. She stays on her power line well and drives through her lower half creating good velocity behind her pitches. She mixes speeds and never changes her arm speed to throw off hitters timing. She stays tall in her finish and attacks hitters early. Offensively, she is athletic in her stance and soft in her stride to the ball. She activates her lower half through her swing and is explosive through the zone. She makes hard contact and drives the ball to her pull side. Overall, Adeline brings great energy and is aggressive every time she steps on the field.
01/12/2018 - 2018 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Kat is a 2022 right-handed pitcher that does a great job of working ahead of hitters. In the circle, Kat has a calm presence and extends well through her release. She has fluid arm action and has controlled mechanics. She stays controlled and has resistance in her finish. Kat displays a strong snap and good spin. She uses her drop ball to keep hitters off balance at the plate. Kat does a good job of commanding her pitches. Offensively, Kat has an athletic stance with an on-time stride to contact. She loads and stays balanced throughout her swing. Kat stays connected with her hips/hands and has explosive bat speed. She has a direct swing path to contact and shows consistency at the plate. Kat squares up the ball nicely and works well to the opposite field. Overall, Kat is an energetic player that has a lot of love for the game. She has gotten better every time we have seen her and always works hard to improve her game.
06/19/2017 - Softball Factory World Series Adeline returns to Softball Factory for her third event. During game play Adeline consistently put the ball in play with line drive power. She is able to work deep in the count and fight with two strikes on her. She works the middle of the field and hustles down the base line. Working on her extension will allow her to finish through the ball and see more gap production. At 3B, she handled the routine play and was willing to get dirty to keep the ball in front. Adding a pre-pitch to her approach will keep her off her heels and help her to play through the ball more. On the mound, Adeline has a strong leg drive and shows good mechanics. She is confident to throw each of her pitches in tough counts. Working to keep her hips open will allow her to finish each pitch and focus on her spins. Adeline is dedicated to the game and as she gets older and stronger she will have the opportunity to take her game to the collegiate level.
06/01/2017 - Softball Factory College World Series Select Training Adeline is a 2022 right-handed pitcher with a developing skill set. In the circle, Adeline has a very fluid arm action in her wind up and holds a calm and confident mound presence. She has controlled mechanics and an athletic balance. She extends thru on her release and keeps a closed hip direction. She has great control on her changeup and keeps her changeup low in the zone. She displays a good screw ball but by working on creating more of a snap behind the ball she will start to notice more movement on this particular pitch. She creates a quick motion and tight snap on her fastball. She also shows a good drop ball with correct spin and good control. She keeps her drop ball down and outside off of the plate which makes for a really good pitch to mix in. If she focuses on getting more use out of her legs and focusing on driving through them she will notice her velocity go up and that will make her pitches more effective. Adeline has good potential to pitch at the collegiate level. Offensively, Adeline is square in her stance and swings hard to the ball. She has a strong base and stays center in her balance. She shows spray potential to all sides of the field and makes consistent contact. She stays short to the ball and keeps a direct swing path thru the zone. She displays explosiveness in her bat speed and engages her legs very well through her swing. Overall, Adeline is a great athlete and will work hard on what is needed to take her game to the next level.
