01/23/2022 - All-In Membership - North Branford, CT Alexa is a talented 2025 Catcher/3B who attended the Softball Factory event in North Branford, CT! Catching wise, she makes accurate throws, keeps her thumb under the ball, covers the five hole well, and tucks her chin down on blocks. At 3B, she is in a good athletic fielding position, fields the ball out in front, and is smooth on her backhands. Hitting wise, she has a good setup in the box, a strong base, and drives her lower half well. Overall, Alexa is a talented athlete and someone our coaching staff always enjoys working with!
07/06/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - New Britain (Hartford), CT Alexa is a young (2025 grad) R/R 1B. Defensively, she has active pre-pitch footwork and hustles into a square fielding position. She tracks GB's into a soft mitt and makes the play. Continuing to develop her footwork/agility will help to increase lateral range. With the bat, she has a square setup with centered balance. She has smooth rhythm to load, swings on a level path and sprays to ball to all parts of the field. Even more power potential is there as she works to engage her lower 1/2 throughout the swing. Young has skills with still a ton of time to progress.
03/24/2019 - Interactive Video Program - East Hampton (Hartford), CT Alexa is a 2025 right handed third baseman and outfielder with a developing skill set. Defensively, she has effective footwork and moves well through each play. She tracks the ball well in the outfield and keeps the ball in front in the infield. She stays center to the ball and low in her legs. She creates backspin on her throws to her target and has a clean exchange. She is short to the ball and makes routine plays. Offensively, she has a strong base in the box and an on time stride to the ball. She is athletic in her rhythm and center in her balance. She is explosive through the zone and makes hard contact to all sides of the field. Overall, Alexa has great work ethic and is very coachable.
