07/09/2013 - Advanced Training and Competition at the World Cup Alexandra continues to develop as an athlete. As a 2B, she has an athletic fielding position and decent feeds and pivots. Continuing to focus on confident glovework, fluid footwork, routes to various balls, and communication will increase confidence and efficiency. As a hitter, she has an athletic setup and decent balance. Continuing to focus on a stride and load, driving the hands through the hitting zone, utilizing the lower half, and keeping the front side closed will increase power and consistency. Implementing a strength and conditioning program will increase speed, agility, power, body awareness, and coordination. As Alexandra continues to develop and mature through application and experience, she will be on track for seeking collegiate attention.
02/10/2013 - College PREP - Sacramento, CA Alexandra uses a square set up with no load, a short stride and a short path to the ball. Uphill at times, her swing recovers to flash some pop when centered and she will benefit from keeping the bat through contact to create more extension through the zone. She should focus on using her lower half more aggressively to help her hands generate more bat speed, ultimately increasing power production and overall quality of contact. Defensively, Alexandra is aggressive to the ball, is an accurate thrower and is solid with her double play feeds from the 2B position. To further develop, she should add a pre-pitch prep step, a long toss program and work on overall speed and agility to increase foot speed/flexibility. Overall, Alexandra is a 3 sport athlete with a skill set that will support improvements she will make with continued hard work and attention to detail.
