10/23/2013 - Ronald McDonald Tournament - 16U Alexis returns to SF for another PD event as a talented, well-balanced fielder. Defensively, she plays both infield and outfield and understands both positions well. As an IF, she fields with clean hands and a quick exchange, moves well to various balls off the bat and has good field positioning. Working on clean, quick transfers will help to improve throwing efficiency. As an OF, she fields with sure hands, takes good routes to various balls and plays through balls. Working on transferring her practice mentality to game situations will help her to improve efficiency and success on the field. Overall, Alexis is a hard worker and has a confident approach to playing defense. At the plate, she uses an athletically balanced set up with a consistent load, short stride and keeps her balance stable before launching to the ball with hard contact. She shows potential for power and will benefit from a stronger mental approach to hitting, ultimately allowing her to be more effective and composed in the box. Overall, Alexis is a go-getter, hustles, aggressive and has a solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
07/19/2013 - Factory Development Institute National Select Program Alexis continues to develop as an athlete. Her natural athleticism and willingness to make adjustments sets a tone on the field. As an IF, she has an accurate arm, confident glovework, active footwork, agile range, and efficient double play feeds and pivots. Continuing to focus on composure, an aggressive approach, and fundamentals will increase fielding success. As an OF, she has an accurate, strong arm, confident glovework, fluid footwork, good routes to various balls, and covers a lot of territory. Continuing to focus on reads/reaction off the bat and getting to powerline after receiving will increase efficiency and fielding success. Implementing a strength and conditioning program will increase speed, agility, power, body awareness, and coordination. As Alexis continues to develop and mature through application and experience, she will be on track for seeking collegiate attention.
05/12/2013 - College PREP - Portland, WA Alexis is a developing athlete. As a 1B, she has an accurate arm, soft hands, presents glove well and makes plays. Focusing on continuing through the ball when fielding, arm strength, staying low when throwing, and footwork on double plays will increase fielding success. As an OF, she has good reads off the bat, an idea of receiving groundballs, and shows aggressiveness. Focusing on a quick transfer, staying down and through the ball, an aggressive powerline, and an athletic pre-pitch position will increase arm strength, footwork, and range. With implementation of the above mentioned recommendations, Alexis will be on track for collegiate attention.
