11/08/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Columbia, SC Ally is an athletic RHP/OF who has a promising future on the field. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as she displays smooth / clean actions. She takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and works to get behind, playing through with momentum to her target. Range is a plus as she covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, she continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (61 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. She has strength in her swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing the middle of the field well. Power will continue to improve as she utilizes her lower half more efficiently. On the mound, she shows a repeatable delivery, allowing her arm action to work loose to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 54-57 mph with late action. Changeup sits 48-49 mph with late movement. Curveball sits 48-49 mph with gradual break. Drop ball sits 55-57 mph with late movement. Screwball sits 53-55 mph and stays down in the zone. Control is well above average as she throws strikes with all her pitches. At the plate, she continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (60 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. She has strength in her swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing the middle of the field well. With 4 years to further develop, Ally has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the college coaches as she progresses her game.
