Since her last outing Allyssa has made improvements to all her tool grades. In the box, Allyssa is a RHH that uses a square stance with a short stride and centered balance. She loads her hands, generates fast bat speed and makes consistent contact. She creates good drive with her lower half and is a gap hitter. Creating more rhythm in her swing will allow her to see continued success in the box. Behind the plate, Allyssa has a good presence. She has an athletic stance, presents a good target and receives with soft hands. She does a nice job of getting in line with her target and works to generate momentum. Working to make a quicker transfer will allow her to cut down her pop time. Overall, Allyssa is an athletic player with the work ethic needed to play at the next level.
08/05/2018 - College PREP - Ashburn (DC), VA Allyssa is a 2020 right handed catcher with a developing skill set. Behind the plate, she has active feet and soft hands when receiving the ball. She frames the ball well and stays short in her action on bunt coverage. She shows strength behind her throws to bases and makes accurate throws consistently. Offensively, she has a square set up in the box and a soft stride to the ball. She needs to focus on getting through extension in her swing and not cutting herself off so that she can create maximum power behind her contact. Overall, Allyssa has a great attitude and is very coachable. If she continues to work hard, she will do what it takes to play at the next level.
