12/27/2013 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament Alysha is a solid senior catcher with a developed skill set. Alysha was batteling an injury during camp, but when she was able to participate she seemed to be very coachable and passionate about the game. By working on relaxing behind the plate, Alysha will become a more confident and well-rounded catcher. Offensively, Alysha uses an athletic set up with a leg kick and explosive lower half to create a positive move to the ball. Alysha has power and by adding extension to the end of her swing she will be able to consistently hit to all sides of the field. Overall, Alysha has the want to get better and she will continue to develop as a player.
07/23/2013 - College PREP - Watertown, WI Alysha is a developing C with some solid tools. Defensively, her hands work well at times, she has strong wrists to stick the pitch on both sides of the plate and will benefit from staying under control when making her exchange before progressing through her footwork to throw. She should continue to work on staying low to block, softening her hands and following her throws to take full advantage of her strong arm. At the plate, Alysha uses a tall set up with a bat wrap load, a long stride and operates on her heels when launching to the ball. She flashes power and will do so more consistently if she uses her lower half more aggressively, improves her load to keeps bat from wrapping and stays through the ball to increase her extension through the zone. Overall, Alysha will have added success in this game if she improves balance both at the plate and behind it; she has a coachable approach and displays good body language the entire time she's competing.
