07/23/2013 - College PREP - Watertown, WI Alyssa is a steady young 3B with a developing feel for the game. Defensively, she goes to her back hand side well, makes accurate throws and has a clean simple release. She will benefit from having earlier glove position out front with her fingers down, quickening her footwork to field/throw and working to anticipate action to improve reactions off the bat. At the plate, Alyssa uses a closed stance with no load, a short stride and keeps her weight centered before launching her level swing through the zone. She gets her lower half through nicely, hits the ball hard to the pull side and should continue to work on implementing a load, seeing the ball deeper to improve point of contact and improving her bunt game to apply pressure to opposing defenses. Overall, Alyssa competes and should continue to seek quality reps and instruction to ensure she is being properly pushed and developed.
