04/10/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Amy is a 2023 RHP/1B who attended the Softball Factory Event in Bel Air, MD. Pitching wise, she throws a fastball, change up, curve ball, and rise ball. She throws consistent strikes, has good spin on her pitches, and has smooth mechanics. At 1B, she has a clean exchange/transfer, good bag awareness, and makes accurate throws. Hitting wise, she is balanced, tracks the ball well, and makes hard consistent contact. Overall, Amy is a very coachable athlete and someone our staff always enjoys working with!
06/25/2021 - Softball Factory All-State Tournament Amy is a 2023 graduate who is a RHP and 1B. She has a good sense of the game and knows what she is doing with the ball before the play begins. In the field, she has an athletic ready position and receives throws properly. In the box, Amy has a square setup with low hands and an on-time rhythm. She has a smooth swing and hard consistent contact with an exit velocity of 61MPH. Her swing is on plane and she swings hard each rep. She needs to work on her range and footwork when backhanding a grounder. On the mound, Amy is composed and tries to work ahead in the count. She is a hard worker and proper mechanics will increase speed and spin rate. Overall, Amy is very coachable and has the work ethic to further improve her game.
11/22/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Gambrills, MD Amy continues to shine on the diamond. On the mound, she shows a repeatable delivery, allowing her arm action to work loose to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 55-56 mph with late life. Curveball shies 48-49 mph with tight spin. Changeup sits 44-45 mph with tumbling action. Drop rise sits 48-49 mph. At 1B, she displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as she attacks balls and works around to play through with her body. Glove action is clean and she presents well out front. Range will increase as she improves foot quickness. At the plate, she shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. She has strength in her swing (62 mph exit velocity) and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to gap pop.
12/27/2019 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament (Prospects) Amy Anderson is a 2023 RHP with a developing skill set. In the circle, Amy has a calm presence and aggressive mindset. Her mechanics are controlled and her arm action is fluid. She accelerates off the mound, has an explosive leg drive, and good resistance on her front side. She utilizes different speeds and movement pitches to keep batters on their toes. She can get ahead in the count and has the ability to shut out a lineup. Offensively, Amy has a compact setup and controlled stride to the ball. Her pre-pitch approach is on-time and fluid. Her barrel is on-plane through the zone and she has the ability to make hard contact to all fields. Overall, Amy is an athlete who is hard working and has a great attitude.
11/02/2019 - Softball Prospects Regional Hitting Weekend Amy is a coachable RHP prospect who worked hard on her skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a soft stride. She is fluid getting her hands activated in a simple load and is explosive driving her lower half through. She generates plus bat speed through the zone and produces loud line drives and great raw power. Overall, Amy is a talented prospect who will be one to follow as she continues to progress.
