06/09/2013 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Antonia is a tall, strong 3B with a lot of potential on both sides of the ball. Defensively, Antonia has great length at 5 '11 and displays really athletic actions at times. She is consistently growing and has some moving parts that get her into trouble but I expect her to grow into her body and improve coordination and body control to more easily repeat the athletic actions. A young 2016, she will benefit from being more active in her set up pre pitch, playing lower at the hips to improve fielding position out front with fingers down and keeping her head down and eyes on the ball throughout the entire catch-and-throw process. At the plate, Antonia uses an open stance with no load, a short stride and gets her weight to her front foot while launching her hands to contact. Long at times, her swing will benefit from being shorter and having a more direct path with her hands inside the ball. Seeing the ball deeper, improving balanced in stride and keeping her barrel through contact are 3 areas that she can improve offensively with effort and a detailed drill package. Overall, Antonia has a great frame to support the adjustments needed to consistently develop as a hitter and defender and should continue to work hard while having fun to ensure she reaches her full potential and gets everything out of the game she wants.
