05/30/2013 - College World Series Select Training Ashleigh continues to develop as an athlete. She has a great attitude and willingly makes adjustments allowing her to progress. As a RHP, she has good mound presence and decent control. Continuing to focus on a lighter drag, finishing the pitch, and body awareness will increase velocity, movement, and efficiency. As a hitter, Ashleigh made natural adjustments and demonstrated poise at each plate appearance. Continuing to focus on driving the hands through the zone, a consistent stride and load, and utilizing the lower half will increase power and efficiency. Implementing a strength and conditioning program will increase agility, athleticism, and endurance. With continued application of recommendations, Ashleigh will be on track for collegiate attention.
01/26/2013 - College PREP - Jackson, MS Ashleigh is a young, developing RHP from the 2016 class. In the circle, Ashleigh uses a full arm swing with backward hand position out of a narrow stance and is able to keep her shoulders level throughout her delivery. She will benefit from incorporating more leg drive, working spins and repeating delivery to develop some rhythm and tempo. She is very strong and simply needs to be aggressive off the rubber to maximize her arm speed/effectiveness. At the plate, Ashleigh uses a square set up with a back load, no stride, centered balance and has a short path to the ball. An aggressive hitter, she will benefit from keeping her front shoulder on the ball longer, getting good pitches to hit and keeping her barrel through the zone after contact to create extension. She has pop and can drive the ball to all fields at times. Overall, Ashleigh has potential to be a powerful player and needs to continue to work hard and consider incorporating a speed/agility training program to speed up the developmental process.
