11/09/2014 - College PREP - Fresno, CA Ashley is a 5'8" 2015 C with a strong skill set. Behind the plate Ashley has an athletic and balanced stance. She gives a good target and looks the ball into her glove. She has soft/sure hands with a strong wrist and does a nice job framing the ball back to the zone. She has a quick exchange paired with a strong arm that is accurate with carry. She is not afraid for base runners to test her arm. Ashley does not hesitate to block balls in the dirst and does a nice job to keep them in front. Working on keeping her head down while blocking will allow her to deaden the ball in front of her. In the box Ashley has a square, athletic set up with good balance. She has an nice stride and load with good weight transfer. She has a quick bat and does a nice job of driving the ball up the middle. Engaging more of her lower half will allow her to see consistent power production. Ashley is able to hit to opposite field and makes her a whole field threat while in the box. Ashley is an exciting player to watch behind the plate and in the box. She will add depth to any collegiate line up.
10/13/2013 - College PREP - San Jose, CA Ashley is a talented C with a balanced skill set. Defensively, she fields bunts quickly and aggressively, frames pitches well, and makes accurate throws with carry on the ball. Working on a more athletic set up will help her to improve efficiency when blocking. Overall, Ashley is assertive and has a confident approach to playing defense. At the plate, she uses a square set up and keeps her balance centered before launching to the ball with a quick bat. She shows good power and will benefit from utilizing the lower half to improve power on point of contact, ultimately, allowing her to access the entire field effectively. Overall, Ashley has a good frame for the position at 5'7 and has solid athletic ability to aid in her continued development as a player.
