In the OF, Ashley makes accurate throws, fields using soft, sure hands, and aggressively attacks the balls to get good angles. Working on playing through various balls and getting to the power line will help to improve arm strength and range. As a 2B, she has a good pre pitch position with an aggressive approach to groundballs. She moves well to the backhand and has good double play technique. Working on fluid footwork and confident glovework will improve range and efficiency. Overall, Ashley has a confident approach to playing defense. As a hitter, she uses a square set up with a short stride and an upward load before producing hard contact to the opposite field. She shows potential for more power and will benefit from driving the hands through the zone quickly, utilizing the lower half, a consistent weight transfer to improve power on contact, ultimately allowing her to access the entire field effectively. Overall, Ahsley has a good frame for the position and solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
