02/16/2015 - College PREP - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Ashtin has returned to Softball Factory to show she has been working hard to improve her skill set in the OF. Ashtin is a coachable player with an extreme passion for the game. She has quick feet and works to set herself up for a good angle on the ball. Incorporating more of a pre-pitch in her stance will allow Ashtin to get a solid first step to the ball. In the box, Ashtin has an aggressive approach. She displays a closed stance with good balance. She is a team player and works to put the ball into play, giving her team an opportunity to move into scoring position. Working on engaging her lower half in her swing will allow Ashtin to square up on the ball and see an increase in power production. Overall, Ashtin is a player who will do what is needed to help her team succeed and with continued reps and exposure she will have the opportunity to play at the next level.
11/06/2014 - Softball Factory Hall of Fame Select Training Ashtin is a 2017 OF with a developing skill set. At the plate, Ashtin uses a square set up and a short stride to make positive movement towards the pitch. She should continue to work on balance and incorporating a load to improve weight distribution and increase power. Defensively, Ashtin uses controlled footwork to get in position to field ground balls and approach fly balls. She needs to develop more confidence and trust her instincts to become more effective at the position. Overall, Ashtin is a good kid with a passion for the game. Her desire to improve will pay off in the long run.
