03/28/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Ava Babcock is a 2023 catcher and third basemen who continues to show improvement at each event she attends with us. Behind the plate Ava has improved her pop times to a range of 1.75-1.96 with accuracy and carry to her target. At 3B she showcased her strong and accurate arm with smooth clean exchanges. She does a great job making routine plays and will continue to improve both behind the plate and at 3B with a solid agility program. Offensively Ava presents a strong fast bat with a strong centered set up. As she continues to work on contact points and pitch recognition she will an even bigger threat at the plate. Ava is an extremely coachable player with a can do attitude. She has all the skills necessary to be a force to reckon with on both sides of the field with massive potential.

02/17/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Ava Babcock is a catcher and third baseman with a developed skill set. Behind the plate, she has a low catching stance and quick movements. She presents her glove to each pitch well and has soft hands when receiving allowing her to work back into the zone. She has a quick exchange and accurate throws. At third base, she has active footwork around the ball and an active pre-pitch approach. She is agile in her lateral movements and has a strong first step. Offensively, she has a square setup and soft stride to the ball. Ava is loaded in her pre-pitch approach, has smooth timing into each pitch, and she shows power to the opposite field gap.
