03/17/2019 - College PREP - Las Vegas, NV Ava is a 2023 right handed shortstop who hustles hard and a very coachable ball player. She works hard every time she steps on the field and shows improvement both offensively and defensively. Defensively, she works well to her glove side and sees the ball well into her glove. She makes routine plays but needs to work on her arm strength on her throws across the diamond. In the circle, she has a calm presence and displays a full arm circle. She needs to work on driving off of the mound in her lower half so that she can create more velocity behind her pitches. Offensively, she has a tall setup in the box and shows good pop to her pull side. Overall, Ava works well and will do what she needs to take to her game to the collegiate level.
03/18/2018 - College PREP - Las Vegas, NV Ava is a 2023 right handed pitcher and second baseman with a developing skill set. At second base she keeps a square fielding position and has an accurate arm to her target. She makes routine plays and keeps the ball in front of her. By focusing on quicker movements and playing more on the balls of her feet she will start to notice she has more range laterally. On the mound, Ava extends through well on her release and has a solid snap on her pitches. She keeps an open hip direction and has controlled mechanics. She tends to not use her legs as much as she could and if she can focus on driving through her legs she will create more velocity behind each of her pitches. Offensively, she has a square set up in the box and a soft stride to the ball. She stays center in her balance and makes consistent contact. Overall, Ava hustles hard and is very coachable. If she continues to work hard she will do what it takes to play at the next level.
