08/09/2015 - College PREP - Boca Raton, FL Avery is a 2019 C/OF with a developing skill set. Offensively, Avery uses a square set up with a soft stride and an activated load to make positive movement towards the ball. Her hands are quick, she stays on the ball well and gets good extension after contact. Avery will increase power by incorporating additional lower half drive into her swing. Behind the plate, Avery brings focus and intensity. She does an excellent job of getting around the ball when framing. Continuing to work on getting into her blocking position faster will improve her ability to stop balls in the dirt. In the OF, Avery is a hard worker who does whatever it takes to make plays for her teammates. She has a good drop step, has ability to read the deep fly ball, and gives effort to get behind the ball. Tucking her glove when running will increase her quickness when making an approach towards ground and fly balls. Overall, Avery is good kid with a love for the game and a desire to improve.
