05/30/2013 - College World Series Select Training Avi continues to set the bar athletically. Her work ethic and passion sets her apart from her peers as well as her eagerness for continued knowledge and application of the game. As a SS, her skill set as a fielder is above average. She demonstrates poise and athleticism with her glovework, footwork, range, and double play feeds. As a hitter, she is aggressive at the plate as her patience, consistency and power echoes throughout all hitting fields. Focusing on utilizing the lower half will generate more power at the plate. Implementing a strength and conditioning program will increase agility, athleticism, and endurance. As Avi continues to finesse her skill set, she will grow in both knowledge and application. She is on track to attracting collegiate attention.
01/05/2013 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Avi is a talented SS from the 2014 class. At the plate, she uses a closed set up with no load or stride, her weight back before launching to the ball. Long at times, her swing consistently produces contact that can be improved with a couple small adjustments. She lets the ball get a little too deep and should get her swing started a little earlier to improve timing, while putting more emphasis on her top hand being dominant and taking a more downhill path to the ball. As a SS, she is a soft handed defender with fluid footwork and is an accurate thrower. She showed agile range to both her glove hand and back hand side and should continue to work at playing lower through the catch and throw phase of her footwork. Overall, Avi showed good energy and has a skill set that may play better at the 3B position in the future and should continue to seek quality instruction to ensure her development continues in a timely manner.
