10/23/2013 - Ronald McDonald Tournament - 16U Bailey returns to SF for another PD event as a talented, well-rounded athlete. Defensively, she plays two positions, outfield and LHP, and understands the demands of both positions well. As an OF, she uses efficient glovework and gets herself into good, athletic field positioning that allows her to cover the entire field effectively. Working on an aggressive approach to various balls will help her to improve make clean plays. As a LHP, she has a great presence, works the hitter's count and produces groundballs and flyballs during games situations. Working on keeping batters off balance with a consistent and effective change up will help her to improve her arsenal of pitches. Overall, Bailey is talented and has a confident approach to playing defense. As a hitter, she has natural power demonstrated through a balanced set up and smooth load before launching to the ball with a short bat path. She shows potential for long ball hitting and will benefit from developing her pitch selection and short-game tactics to increase her versatility. Overall, Bailey exemplifies work ethic, leadership and tenacity and has a solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
08/18/2013 - College PREP - Sioux Falls, SD Bailey is a developed athlete with core fundamentals. As a LHP, she possesses confident mound presence and athleticism with her pitching arsenal. She is polished, consistent, and effective. Focusing on finessing individual pitch spins and snaps and more leg drive will increase velocity and movement. As an OF, she has a quick, accurate arm with life on her throw and covers ground quickly. Focusing on a quick dropstep and coming through flyballs to the powerline will increase efficiency. As a hitter, she has a smooth, aggressive approach that produces hard, consistent contact to all hitting fields. Focusing on timing and utilizing the lower half will increase power and efficiency. A strength and conditioning program will also increase overall speed, agility, power, body awareness, and coordination. With implementation of the above recommendations, Bailey will be on track for seeking collegiate attention.
