05/30/2013 - College World Series Select Training Breanna is a developing athlete. Her work ethic sets an example for her peers as she strives to make adjustments and get better. As a SS, her confident glovework, fluid footwork, and agile range contribute to her fielding success. Continuing to focus on a more fluid arm slot to make fielding and throwing consistent. As a hitter, Breanna continuously made adjustments with timing and bat path as she relied on her basic fundamentals to produce hard contact. Continuing to focus on pitch selection and trusting her instincts will increase power and efficiency. Implementing a strength and conditioning program will increase agility, athleticism, and endurance. With continued application of recommendations, Breanna will be on track for collegiate attention.
04/28/2013 - College PREP - Atlanta, GA Breanna is a solid defender with the potential to have a big time arm. She has agile range, uses her feet well and gets rid of the ball quickly while remaining accurate. She has good feel for the SS position and will benefit from softening her hands, following throws to improve carry and approaching the ball more aggressively with early glove position and low hips to improve fielding position. She needs to anticipate action her way and focus on presenting her glove early while working from the ground up. At the plate, Breanna uses a square set up with a back load, short stride and solid balance before launching her hands to contact. She generates good bat speed, has sharp barrel accuracy and should continue to work on using her legs aggressively on every swing to improve power production. Staying inside the ball, working to strike the inside part of the ball, and keeping the barrel through contact to improve extension are areas for attention to ensure the continued development of her offensive skill set. Overall, Breanna is a steady player with the ability to help a team in more ways than one; she should continue to seek quality reps and instruction to ensure she is prepared for every opportunity she gets to showcase her abilities for coaches at the next level.
