04/28/2013 - College PREP - Atlanta, GA Bryanna is a versatile young player whom can play 3B and the OF at a high level. As an infielder, she is a soft, sure handed defender with fluid footwork and shows agile range to both her glove and backhand side. She has a hand cannon for an arm, is consistently accurate and will benefit from having a more active pre pitch prep step, playing lower and improving fielding position by having earlier glove position with her hands out/fingers down. In the OF, she continues to impress with quick reactions off the bat, solid angles/routes to the ball and a presence that shines bright with confidence and willingness to be vocal and bold. She will see improvements in her game if she keeps her feet in line to throw with an active power step, approaches the ball with low hips and pursues the ball with her hands close to her body before extending to make the catch. At the plate, Bryanna uses a closed set up with a wrap to load, a dive to stride and spends a lot of time hitting off her front foot. She recovers well to hit the ball hard to all fields and shows a disciplined approach with good plate/pitch recognition. To further develop, Bryanna should consider squaring up her feet in her set up allowing herself to stride both straight and soft, ultimately improving weight shift and tracking abilities. She will also want to improve her comfort and ability to hit/slap from the same initial set up in the box. Finally, her power production and potential will increase exponentially as she incorporates her lower half by getting her hips through the zone on every swing. Overall, Bryanna is a talented young lady with enough time to work on all the above mentioned adjustments, make the improvements and realize her goal of playing at the next level. Between now and then, hard work, quality instruction and attention to details in her preparation will ensure her skill set is where it needs to be.
