09/22/2013 - College PREP - Columbus, OH Caitlin is a talented young infielder with a well-balanced skill set. Defensively, she plays two positions, RHP and 1B, and she understands the demands of both positions well. As a RHP, she has good mound presence, solid mechanics, and potential to be a great pitcher. Working on increasing leg drive and snaps will help her to generate velocity and movement. As a 1B, she fields with sure hands and covers the bag well when fielding. Working on agile footwork will help her to improve range to various balls. Overall, Caitlin is an aggressive fielder and has a confident approach to playing defense. At the plate, she uses a square set up with a back load and a short stride before launching to the ball with a level swing. She shows good power and will benefit from utilizing the lower half to improve contact, ultimately, allowing her to access the entire field effectively. Overall, Caitlin has a good frame for the position at 5'9 and has solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
