03/16/2014 - College PREP - Greensboro, NC Caitlin is a junior shortstop with a developing skill set. Defensively, Caitlin does a good job of seeing the ball into her glove. After receiving the ball, Caitlin transfers quickly into her throwing position. When turning a double play, Caitlin has smooth footwork when approaching the bag. By working on fielding the ball out in front of her body and having soft and sure hands, Caitlin will become a more efficient fielder. Offensively, Caitlin uses a square setup before launching to the contact position. She has rhythm at the plate and has an aggressive approach. Caitlin has a level swing and hits the ball hard to the left side of the field. Caitlin will benefit from letting the outside pitch travel deeper into the zone and driving the ball to opposite field. Overall, Caitlin is a developing player that will continue to grow with training.
