06/25/2021 - Softball Factory All-State Tournament Carlie is a 2024 graduate who played behind the dish at the All-State event. She is athletic and works hard. In the box, she had a pop time of 2.28 seconds. She leans and gets behind the ball well on her blocks. She sticks her frames but has the habit of flipping the ball on her transfer. In the box, Carlie is aggressive and swings the bat fast. Her lower half could also be more activated and increased pitch selection will impact more consistency with the bat. Speed transfer drills and extension drills will help Carlie become a more well-rounded softball player. Overall, she has the skill set and tools to further develop her game on the diamond.
12/13/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Manalapan, NJ Carlie is a strong, athletic C/3B who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, she presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. She uses her body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner and improve her lateral movements. Pop times showed a range of 2.03-2.30. At 3B, defensive abilities are well above average as she displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as she works around balls and plays through with her body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. At the plate, she continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (54 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path. She shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach, utilizing the middle of the field well. With 4 years to further develop, Carlie has potential with time and room to progress her game.
08/04/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Ashburn (DC), VA Carlie is a catcher and shortstop with a developing skill set. Behind the plate, she sits low in her catching position and receives the ball with quiet hands. She gets around the ball well on her blocks and and frames each pitch well in the zone. She has a strong base and pops out quickly on bunt coverage. At shortstop, she is quick in her footwork and agile in her range. She moves well through each play with solid momentum and fields the ball out in front. She has a strong arm and stays smooth in her release to her target. Offensively, Carlie is athletic in the box and short in her stride to the ball. She stays fluid through the zone with her barrel and displays power to all parts of the field. Overall, Carlie has great work ethic and hustles hard.
