02/02/2014 - College PREP - Jacksonville, FL Carsyn is an evolving RHP and outfielder with a balanced skill set. Defensively, she understands both positions well. As a RHP, she has an athletic presence on the mound, uses a full forward arm swing and keeps a smooth rhythm as she relies on her pitching arsenal when she faces opponents. Working on individual pitch spin and release point will help to improve accuracy and movement. As an OF, she covers ground, fields with soft hands and has a natural carry on her throw. Working on an accurate arm slot and finishing across the body will help to improve throwing efficiency. Overall, she communicates well on the field and has a confident approach to playing defense. At the plate, she uses a square set up with a back load and short stride and keeps her balance centered before launching to the ball to produce hard contact to the pull side. She shows good power and will benefit from letting the ball travel into the zone to improve power on contact, ultimately allowing her to access the entire field effectively. Overall, Carsyn has a good frame for both positions and solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
