10/20/2013 - College PREP - Raleigh, NC Catherine is an athletic 2B with a well-balanced skill set on both sides of the ball. At the plate, Catherine uses a closed stance with a back load, a short stride and keeps her balance centered before launching her aggressive swing through the zone. She makes hard contact due to the explosive bat speed she generates with an active lower half and good hands. She will enjoy added success as she sees the ball deeper into the zone before launching to the inside part of the ball. Defensively, Catherine is an aggressive player whom will leave her feet to make the big play. She has a pretty good glove to hand transfer and will benefit from keeping her feet active pre-pitch, fielding further out front and playing from the ground up to improve fielding position. Overall, Catherine is a steady player with the tools to consistently get better, faster and stronger and has the potential to compete for a spot on a roster at the next level.
