02/24/2013 - College PREP - Las Vegas, NV Chelsea is an athletic two way player from the 2014 class. In the circle, she uses a full arm swing with forward hand position in an athletic stance while displaying some rhythm/tempo throughout her delivery. Her shoulders are slightly open which causes her to fall to the 3B side with an upright finish and an open landing. She has a good feel for changing speeds and should continue to work hard on improving her fastball command which will help command of all pitches. As a 1B, she is pretty good with picks, is aggressive to the ball and has a very coachable approach to playing the position with the ability to quickly make adjustments. She will benefit from playing lower, shortening her arm stroke and keeping her hips low with light feet to improve her fielding position with hands out front/fingers down. At the plate, Chelsea uses a square set up with a back load, dives to stride and gets her bat through the zone with quick hands. Moving forward, her focus should be to improve her balance and keep her weight on the balls of her feet, stay tall on the back side and allowing her top hand to deliver the barrel level through the zone. She flashes pop, has good rhythm in the box and should continue to work on getting her lower half through to maximize her power potential and production. Overall, Chelsea is a solid player with a steadily developing skill set and should continue to seek quality coaching/reps to ensure she is being properly pushed.
