Defensively, she is a soft sure handed receiver, looks the ball in to catch clean and has a solid set up to stick the pitch. She makes adjustments quickly, is very athletic behind the plate and communicates with confidence. To further develop defensively, she needs to operate on the balls of her feet, improve her arm slot and widen her action stance to offer her foundation more stability. At the plate, Christie uses a square set up with a back load, short stride and an aggressive path to the ball. Long at times, her swing recovers to produce hard contact and will do so more consistently if she implements more of a load and shortens her swing while keeping her hands inside the ball to improve point of contact. Overall, Christie is a steady young player with good feel for the game and should continue to seek quality instruction and opponents to ensure she is being pushed throughout her development.
