01/16/2015 - 2015 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament Christina is a 2017 C with a balanced skill set. Behind the plate Christine displays an athletic set up and good balance. She presents a good target for her pitcher, looks the ball into her glove and has soft/sure hands. Christine does a nice job to get around the ball and frame the strike zone. In games she communicates well with her team and does a nice job of working with her pitcher through each inning. She makes a good transfer and is accurate to her target when challenging base runners. In the box Christine has a square set up with good balance and an activated load. She has an aggressive approach and hops on pitches in her zone. Over all Christine is a hard working player, who with continued reps and exposure will have the opportunity to play at the collegiate level.
06/23/2014 - Softball Factory World Series Christina continues to refine her skill set behind the plate. She understands the demands of the position and focuses on the position's complexities. Continuing to focus on quick feet, blocking skills and gaining ground when throwing will help to improve efficiency. At the plate, she consistently produces contact to various hitting fields. She shows good power and will benefit from stronger wrists, bat extension and timing to improve power, ultimately allowing her to be a more effective hitter. With hard work and dedication, she can continue her growth athletically.
03/09/2014 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Christina is a freshman catcher with a well-balanced skill set. Behind the plate, Christina has a nice build and athletic setup. She receives the ball with soft and sure hands. Christina has playable footwork and moves well from side to side when blocking and framing. By working on her release and getting rid of the ball quicker, Christina will be able to throw out more runners. Offensively, Christina uses an open stance with a downward and back load to make a positive move to the ball. She is an aggressive hitter that maintains centered balance through contact. Christina hits the ball hard consistently to the left side of the field. She will benefit from letting the outside pitch travel deeper into the hitting zone so she is able to hit it to right field. Overall, Christina is a hardworking, young athlete that will continue to develop as a player.
11/07/2013 - Softball Factory Select Training at Vero Beach Christina is an evolving C with a balanced skill set. Defensively, she frames will confident, has a stable base and blocks various pitches well. Working on quicker footwork and transfers will help her to improve efficiency. Overall, Christina commands the field naturally and has a confident approach to playing defense. At the plate, she uses square, balanced set up as she produces contact to the pull side. She shows potential and will benefit from implementing a stride and load, an explosive lower half and staying inside the ball to improve power on contact, ultimately allowing her to access the entire field effectively. Overall, Christina is a natural leader, hard work, enthusiastic and has solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
09/28/2013 - SF Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Commuter) (Ages 13-18) Christina is an evolving hitter with a balanced skill set. At the plate, she uses a tall set up with a short stride before launching to the ball with a short swing to produce hard contact. Working on keeping her weight centered will help her improve power on contact point, ultimately, allowing her to access all hitting fields effectively. Christina made adjustments at the plate with each pitch. She shows natural strength and would benefit from utilizing the lower half and a consistent rhythm to improve contact efficiently. Overall, Christina is an aggressive hitter and has solid athletic ability to aid in her continued development as a player.
07/30/2013 - College PREP - La Plata, MD Christina is a developing athlete. As a C, she has an accurate arm, decent target, and the basic understanding of blocking. Focusing on reaction time, gaining ground, and basic fundamentals when blocking will increase efficiency and fielding success. As a hitter, she has a square, balanced set up with an aggressive approach that produces hard contact. Focusing on a stride and load, driving the hands through the zone, nd bat extension after contact will increase power and consistency. Implementing a strength and conditioning program will increase speed, agility, power, body awareness, and coordination. As Christina continues to develop and mature through application and experience, she will be on track for seeking collegiate attention.
