03/09/2013 - College PREP - Mt. Laurel, NJ Courtney is a very talented young C with a bright future. Behind the dish, she has good hands to receive, gets around the ball well and is an advanced communicator with a good feel for leading a defense. She will benefit from using her legs better to throw by staying low and driving off the back leg then following the throw to properly clear her front side ultimately improving flight/carry which is a vital part of the pop time. Quickening her transfer and footwork to throw will allow her to make almost immediate improvements to her pop times and should be paid close attention to in her preparation. At the plate, Courtney is a patient young hitter with a good feel for the zone and the ability to drive the gaps. She generates quick bat speed, has a solid hand path and is aggressive to her pitch with a great lower half. Smoothing out some of her actions pre-pitch will help to eliminate some unnecessary movement which will help her to simplify and stay consistent. Overall, Courtney is a solid Catcher with and even more advanced skill set at the plate, that combination usually results in collegiate attention and a chance to play at the next level which she will have to continue to work hard to be prepared for.
