In the box, Darby hits from the right side but is also able to move over to the left side and slap. She uses a square stance with a short stride and centered balance. She makes hard contact and is a consistent line drive hitter. She does a nice job of extending through contact. Working on her contact points will allow her to see more gap production and power. When slapping she is able to put the ball in play consistently. Seeing the ball deeper in the zone will allow her to work the 5/6 hole more. At SS, Darby shows good range and field awareness. She presents her glove on time and fields with sure hands. She had a smooth backhand approach. She makes a quick transfer, makes accurate throws and provides good double play feeds. Working to play through the ball will allow her to gain more momentum to her target. Overall, Darby is an athletic player that will continue to develop her game.
