11/07/2013 - Softball Factory Select Training at Vero Beach Deidra is an evolving OF with a balanced skill set. Defensively, she understands the position well with great effort, work ethic and attitude. Working on a more athletic approach to fielding will help her to improve efficiency. Overall, Deidra makes adjustments and has a confident approach to playing defense. At the plate, she uses an open set up with mid-high hands, a short stride and keeps her balance centered before making consistent contact. She shows good power and will benefit from implementing a stride and load as well as an explosive lower half to improve power on contact, ultimately allowing her to access the entire field effectively. Overall, Deidra has solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
08/13/2013 - College PREP - Elgin (Chicago), IL Deidra is a developing OF with good quickness inside the game. Defensively, is a soft handed defender with a simple release that produces accurate throws. She gets good reads off the bat, plays with high energy and should continue to work securing the ball with conviction and eliminating a step to throw to quicken release. At the plate, Deidra uses a closed stance with a back load, a short stride and keeps her weight back before the launch phase of her swing. She is clean to the ball, consistently making contact to the pull side and will better access the rest of the field while improving plate coverage if she sees the ball deeper into the hitting zone. Overall, Deidra seems to apply instruction quickly and has the body control to quickly make adjustments, both of which are valuable tools to have when competing for a place in college softball.
