05/04/2014 - College PREP - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Dominique continues to be an evolving RHP and 2B with a balanced skill set. On the mound, she has a natural mound presence with and athletic build that provides a good stature when facing hitters. Continuing to work on individual pitch spins/snaps, leg drive and arm swing will help to improve accuracy, movement and velocity. As a 2B, she makes accurate throws, fields using soft, sure hands and communicates on the field. Continuing to work on staying in an athletic position when fielding and quicker feet up the middle will help to improve range and efficiency. Overall, Dominique has a good attitude and confident approach on the field. At the plate, she uses a square set up with a back load and short stride and keeps her balance centered before producing hard contact to the pull side. She shows good power and will benefit from implementing a stride and load, driving the hands through the zone, timed weight transfer and utilizing the lower half to improve power on contact, ultimately allowing her to access the entire field effectively. As a slapper, she produces soft contact to the pull side. Working on getting the front foot down and placing ball in the 5/6 hole will help to improve efficiency. Overall, Dominique has a good frame for the position and solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
