06/20/2016 - Softball Factory World Series Drew Stitt is a 2017 catcher with a solid skill set. Defensively, Drew has a strong set up and good pre pitch movement behind the plate. She has quick footwork and displays great body control. Drew receives the ball out in front with soft, subtle hands. She uses her momentum to gain strength on her throws and make an accurate throw to her target. By working on a quicker transfer and staying more fluid on throw downs, Drew will see that her pop time will increase and she will become more of a threat behind the plate. Offensively, Drew carries a strong presence and displays good rhythm at the plate. She has a soft stride and activates her hands well with her load. Drew has good balance throughout her swing and launches on time to contact for a nice, smooth swing. She extends through the ball with good bat speed and uses good hips/hands coordination to produce her power. By working with even more leg explosion and letting the ball travel, Drew will see her power increase to all fields. Overall, Drew has a coachable attitude that works hard and adjusts to everything she is told. She will continue to build on what she has learned to take her game to the highest level possible.
01/10/2013 - Softball Factory Spring Training at Vero Beach Drew returns to us playing the SS position and did so well. She developed better pre-pitch and is getting to more groundballs because of it. She uses her feet well to throw and range will improve as she matures and gets stronger. At the plate, Drew displayed great rhythm, timing and was very consistent throughout camp. She is a solid line drive hitter and soon will possess the strength necessary to drive the gaps/burn outfielders consistently. Overall, Drew has a ton of potential and her progression is certainly one to keep an eye on. Continued hard work and commitment will aid in her speedy development on her way to college softball.
06/01/2012 - College World Series Select Training Drew is a sure handed 3B with a solid approach to the game. She uses her feet well, plays low and communicates well and should focus on staying on line with her feet as well as using her feet more aggressively. She gets rid of the ball quick and has a solid build for the position. At the plate, Drew has a balanced, athletic set up with a back load, short stride and centered balance throughout swing. I would like her to keep working on her timing by committing to the stride and load. She is capable of making adjustments and has the body control to do so quickly. Overall, Drew is a talented young player with a bright future if she continues to develop and work hard.
