08/16/2015 - College PREP - West Windsor (Trenton), NJ Elyssa is a 2017 two-way player as a 3B/RHP. On the mound Elyssa has a good presence and can field her position. She shows good balance as she gathers over the rubber, separated on time and has a fluid arm action. She uses a 5-pitch package and is able to focus in pitch to pitch. Working on her leg drive will allow Elyssa to see an increase in her overall velocity and will also allow her to control her speed pitch to pitch. In the box Elyssa is a RHH that uses a square stance with good balance and on time rhythm. She takes a direct route to contact and generates excellent bat speed. She is barrel accurate and does a nice job of extending through the hitting zone. Elyssa is a consistent line drive hitter with the ability to work the gaps. At 3B Elyssa is a vocal player that handles the routine play well. She presents her glove on time, fields with soft/sure hands and makes accurate throws to her target. Adding a pre pitch to her approach will allow Elyssa to play through the ball and gain ground to her target. Overall Elyssa is a dedicated player and with continued coaching, reps and exposure she will have the opportunity to take her game to the collegiate level.
