01/15/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Emili continues to show as a prospect on the field. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as she displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft / clean and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive and attacks balls, playing through with her body. Throws are accurate with accuracy and carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Range will increase as she improves foot quickness. At the plate, she continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (70 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. She stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in her swing, driving the ball to the deepest part of park. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable, works hard to be the best player she can be, and is a team player.
12/28/2019 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Emili Blackie is a 2023 catcher and first baseman with a strong skill set. Behind the plate, she is calm, has active feet, and looks the softball all the way into the glove. At first base, her exchange of the ball from the glove to her hand is clean and she makes accurate throws across the field. Offensively, Emili uses her lower half, has smooth rhythm, and can spray the ball to all areas of the field. Overall, Emili has a great attitude and shows a clear love for the game.
