02/20/2017 - College PREP - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Emily is a 2019 shortstop with a developing skill set. Defensively, Emily has soft hands when fielding and has a quick release to throw. She works hard on every play and makes accurate, on-line throws to her target. By working more from the ground/up, Emily will see her footwork and her overall skill set become smoother and more fluid. Offensively, Emily has a square setup and takes a soft, short stride to the ball. She has great bat whip and she stays on time to contact. Emily shows consistency at the plate and is able to work to all parts of the field. She takes a direct path to the ball and squares the ball up nicely. By engaging more of her lower half and focusing on extension, Emily will gain more strength and power at contact. Overall, Emily will only get better and improve on what is needed to play at the highest level.
