08/10/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Frederick, MD Emily continues to show as a top prospect on the softball field. At the plate is where she continues to show best, with tremendous power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. She stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and delivers the barrel (76 mph exit velocity) with gap-to-gap pop. At 1B, she shows smooth fluid actions. She displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft / clean and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive and attacks balls, playing through with her body. Throws are accurate with zip (62 mph velocity) to her target.
11/20/2019 - Under Armour Softball Factory Fall Classic - 16U Emily Cline is a 2024 left-handed utility player with a strong skill set. In the outfield, Emily fields in an athletic position and from the balls of her feet. Her pre-pitch approach is on-time and she shows agility in her lateral range. She creates good angles and is sure in her glove work when fielding. She can throw accurately to her target and has the strength to carry the ball. Offensively, Emily has an athletic and open setup. She activates her lower half well and has a controlled stride to the ball. Her barrel is explosive through the zone and she makes hard contact consistently. She has high on base percentage and shows power to her pull side.
09/19/2019 - 2019 Softball Factory 14u - Carolina Classic Emily is a 2024 left handed first baseman and outfielder with a strong skill set. Defensively, she has an athletic fielding position and moves well laterally for the ball. She keeps the ball in front and stays strong in her base at first. She works from the ground up and makes strong throws across the diamond. In the outfield, she reads the ball well off of contact and takes good angles back on the ball. She needs to work on not rushing her throws so that she can be more efficient to her target. Offensively, she has a tall stance in the box and a short stride to the ball. She stays controlled in her load and on time with her hands. She keeps her barrel level through the zone and makes hard contact consistently. Overall, Emily has fantastic work ethic and will do what it takes to play at the next level.
