01/15/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Emily is a very talented 3B who can swing the bat with power. Offensively, Emily steps into the box and is looking to swing it. She stands in well with an athletic stance with fluid rhythm and active hands to load. She fires the barrel with + bat speed and and engages her lower 1/2 well, generation good torque resulting in pop off of the barrel. The ball explodes off of her bat and she sprays it to the deep parts of the park (exit velo = 80 mph). She battles and went an impressive 6 for 10 with 3 2B's and 3 HR's! At 3B, she has active footwork and moves well in her approach to the GB. Hands are soft as she funnels to a clean transfer, firing strong/accurate throws across the diamond. Smith is a standout 3B prospect who has a very bright future in the game. She is one to keep an eye on over the next few years.
10/18/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Tomball (Houston), TX Emily is a strong 3B prospect who continues to showcase her skills on the field. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through an athletic setup. She is fluid to load and generates explosive bat speed through the zone, producing loud contact and great gap to gap power. At 3B, Emily fields with soft hands and has a quick exchange. She gains ground well on her throws and keeps them accurate with carry across the diamond. Overall, Emily is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.
01/20/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Conroe (Houston), TX Emily is a strong 3B prospect who continues to shine on the field. At 3B, Emily shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. She gets into an athletic position and fields with a firm glove. She makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping her throws accurate with carry through her target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. She is smooth getting into her load and hits against a strong front side. She generates explosive bat speed through the zone, producing loud contact and gap to gap power. Overall, Emily is a talented prospect who will be one to follow as she continues to progress.
07/31/2019 - Softball Factory World Series - Futures Emily is a 2024 right handed first baseman and third baseman with a strong skill set. Defensively, she is athletic in her fielding position and comes through each play with solid momentum. She stays low through the ball and is agile in her range. She is smooth in her release and makes strong throws across the diamond. Offensively, she is relaxed in the box and athletic in her stance. She sees the ball well to her barrel and keeps her swing short and compact. She is level through the zone and makes hard contact consistently. Overall, Emily is always ready for the next play ahead of her and displays great work ethic.
