11/06/2016 - College PREP - Waterford Township (Detroit), MI Erika is a 2018 right-handed pitcher, outfielder with a developing skill set. In the circle, Erika is on time with her separation and has free arm action. She extends well through her release, displays great mechanics, and drives off the mound strong. Erika keeps her movement pitches at 50 mph and follows with her change up coming in at 40 mph. She mixes her rise ball, curve ball, and change up well to keep the hitters off balance in the box. By working more on her wrist snaps and being fluid through her finish, Erika can improve her speed and movement on all pitches. Defensively, Erika takes good angles to the ball and displays the proper footwork throughout the process. She also makes accurate, on-line throws to all targets. Offensively, Erika is square to the plate on her set up and shows good balance throughout her swing. She is fluid to contact and takes a direct route to the ball. Erika has good bat speed and extends well through the ball. She has good rhythm in the box and rotates her core well for power and coordination. By engaging more of her lower half, Erika will display more power off the bat at contact. Overall, Erika is a good athlete and will work hard on what is needed to take her game to the next level.
