01/15/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Gail continues to show as a prospect on the field. On the mound, she shows a repeatable delivery, allowing her arm action to work loose to the plate. She has good stride length and throws with an intent. Fastball showed a range of 55-56 mph. Curveball sits 53-55 mph with tight spin. Screw ball sits 53-55 mph with sharp action. Control is well above average as she throws strikes with all her pitches. At the plate, she continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (72 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. She stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable, works hard to be the best player she can be, and is a team player.
01/17/2020 - 2020 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Gali Nelson is a 2025 left-handed prospect who showcased her skills in a multitude of ways during this event. In the circle, she was consistent with her delivery and had composure on the mound. She had an aggressive mindset and attacked each batter right away. Her motion is fast and fluid, she has sharp spin, and can defend her position. Defensively, she is a vocal leader in the field and makes every routine play consistently. She has a quick exchange and accurate throws to her targets. Offensively, she has a square setup and short stride to the ball. She is balanced, has great rhythm, and an explosive barrel through the zone.
11/24/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Savannah, GA Gali Nelson is a 2025 left-handed pitcher and first baseman with a developing skill set. On the mound, she has a calm presence with a tall and controlled finish. Her arm action is fluid and free. She keeps hitters off balance with her fastball, drop-ball, and curve-ball combination. At first base, she stays low and sees the ball into her glove well. Offensively, Gail’s balance is centered throughout her swing and hits line-drives into the outfield. Overall, Gail looks forward to maturing as a player and strengthening her abilities.
