09/08/2013 - College PREP - Philadelphia, PA Gianna is a developing OF with a steady skill set on both sides of the ball. Defensively, she fields with soft hands, has a pretty good drop step and works to get to the outside of the ball for effective angles. She does a pretty good job of staying in line and will benefit from keeping her feet active pre-pitch and beating the ball to a spot to eliminate tendency to drift to fly balls. At the plate, Gianna uses an open stance with no load or stride and keeps her balance centered before launching her short swing through the zone. An aggressive hitter, she should continue to work on staying on the ball longer with her front side as well as staying through contact to improve her extension through the zone. Overall, Gianna should keep playing hard while having fun and if she commits to being detailed in her preparation, she will consistently progress and get the most out of her skill set.
