07/09/2013 - Advanced Training and Competition at the World Cup Haleigh continues to develop as an athlete. Her eagerness to learn and make adjustments sets a tone on the field. As an OF, she has a decent pre-pitch, active footwork and hips, worked well with powerline, great communication, average routes to various balls, and improved on her drop-step. Continuing to focus on arm slot/strength via throwing regiment, confident glovework, and solidifying fundamentals will increase range and efficiency. As a hitter, she has a basic idea of the fundamentals. Continuing to focus on a consistent stride and load, driving the hands through the hitting zone, utilizing the lower half, keeping the front side closed, and timing will increase power and efficiency. Implementing a strength and conditioning program will increase speed, agility, power, body awareness, and coordination. As Haleigh continues to develop and mature through application and experience, she will be on track for seeking collegiate attention.
02/10/2013 - College PREP - Sacramento, CA Haleigh is an aggressive slap hitting OF from the 2014 class. Defensively, she keeps her feet active in her pre- pitch, is aggressive to the ball and is willing to lay out to make the big play. To further develop, she will want to focus on raising her arm slot, pursuing fly balls with her glove hand close to her body, and improving her arm strength through the use of a long toss program. At the plate, Haleigh uses a square set up with no load or stride and has a short path to the ball. An aggressive slapper, she will benefit from improving her weight shift during launch phase, staying tall on her back side and being more disciplined in her pitch selection. Overall, Haleigh has a developing skill set and is putting the work in to make the necessary adjustments needed to be more effective on both sides of the ball.
