At the plate is where she shows best, displaying excellent hitting abilities with tremendous power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (77 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. She makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to increase as she utilizes her lower half more efficiently. At 1B, she displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft/clean and presents well out front. Behind the dish, she presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow her to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Pop times show in the 2.30 range with accuracy on her throws. Times will continue to drop as she builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Harper has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress her game.
