She fields the ball out front and creates good momentum through the ball. She makes accurate throws to her target and fields her position well. Offensively, she has a square set up in the box and a soft stride to the ball. She activates her lower half through her swing well and makes hard contact consistently. Overall, Hayley has great work ethic and will do what it takes to play at the next level.
01/12/2018 - 2018 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament Hayley's dedication to the game has earned her Softball Factory Pre-Season All-American honors. Coaches describe Hayley has a true gamer. She hustles on and off the field and is a coachable player. In the box, Hayley is a consistent contributor. She works the gaps but has the patience to make the pitcher work and draw a walk. She saw a high on base percentage during the tournament and was smart on the base path. At SS, Hayley is a very athletic player. She reads the ball well and is confident in her back hand. She plays through the ball and makes accurate throws to her target. Overall, Hayley is an exciting player with the tools needed to play at the collegiate level and she will make an excellent addition to a college program. Hayley was also named MVP of this event, a great accomplishment given the talent in attendance.
06/19/2017 - Softball Factory World Series Hayley returns to Softball Factory to show she is ready to work hard to take her game to the next level. During game play Hayley was a consistent threat in the box. She showed line drive power to all fields. She is smart on the box and doesn't let a pitch in her zone go by. Creating more of a weight transfer will allow her to engage her lower half and see more gap production. Defensively she is a quick player that is willing to dive to keep the ball in front. She plays through the ball well and has a strong arm. Staying low in her fielding position will allow her to be fluid to her backhand. On the mound she has an athletic look and calm presence. She does a nice job of locating her change up for a strike. Working on her power line will allow her to be inline with her target and see an increase in her leg drive. Overall Hayley is a confident and coachable player with the tools needed to play at the collegiate level.
04/30/2017 - College PREP - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Hayley is a 2019 shortstop, right-handed pitcher with a well-balanced skill set. Defensively, Hayley has good range in all directions and stays athletic in her fielding position. She presents her glove well and gains ground when fielding. Hayley uses her whole body to generate arm strength and reads the hop well to make the play. She has a quick arm action and makes accurate feeds/throws to her target. In the circle, Hayley hold good balance with all of her pitches and extends well through her release. She has free arm action and stays controlled with her mechanics. Hayley stays controlled throughout her finish and displays great spin/snap. She drives off the mound with purpose and is very accurate with her location. Hayley uses a knuckle drop that is off speed and has late break and her fast ball also has some natural up movement. She also mixes her change in well with great floating spin to the glove side to freeze the hitters. Offensively, Hayley is tall in her stance and takes a soft stride to contact. She loads back well and stays balanced throughout her swing. Hayley works together with her hips/hands and has fast bat speed to contact. She makes hard, consistent contact and hits with line drive power. By engaging more in her legs and working on driving her hips instead of rotating, Hayley will become much more powerful to all parts of the field. Overall, Hayley is a coachable and hard working athlete that will continue to improve on what is needed to play at the next level.
