08/09/2014 - College PREP - Columbus, OH Hope is a young left-handed pitcher / first baseman with a developing skill set. On the mound, Hope uses an athletic base, forward hand position, and full arm swing to deliver the ball. She has smooth rhythm, keeps her body in line with the plate, and has an athletic finish. Hope has a mixture of pitches that she uses to attack each batter. She is a consistent pitcher with her curve ball being her best pitch. It has sharp, late movement, and tends to drop. By working on her snap, and spins with her other pitches, Hope will be able to create similar movement on her other pitches. At first base, Hope receives the ball with soft hands. She is an aggressive player that charges the ball. Hope has a consistent arm with carry strength. She will benefit from working on her pre-pitch set up. Offensively, Hope uses an open setup and short stride to make a positive move to the ball. She is an athletic kid that has rhythm throughout her swing. Hope has a level swing and maintains centered balance while driving through contact. She also has fast bat speed, which allows her to get to the contact position quickly. By working to let the ball travel deeper into the hitting zone and keeping her hands inside the ball, Hope will be able to hit the ball to both sides of the field. Overall, Hope is a young athlete that will continue to develop with training.
