11/22/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Bella continues to show as a prospect on the field. Behind the dish, she presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. She uses her body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times ranged from 1.9 to 2.2 behind the plate. At 3B, defensive abilities are now outstanding as she displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as she works around balls and plays through with her body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. At the plate, she shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing path. She shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side.

11/20/2019 - Under Armour Softball Factory Fall Classic - 16U Isabella Smithson is a 2024 right-handed catcher with a strong skill set. Behind the plate, Isabella has an athletic and low primary catching stance. She receives well into the zone with soft hands. Her exchange is quick and clean. Her throws are accurate and she shows strength in her release over the top. Her mechanics are solid and she is quick to block each pitch in the dirt. Continuing to smoothen out her actions with her blocking will help numbers improve. She has the ability to be aggressive and make plays at other positions as well. Offensively, she has an athletic setup and controlled movements. Her lower half is loaded and her barrel is fast through the zone. She makes hard contact consistently and can hit for power to all fields. Overall, Isabella is an athlete who makes adjustments quickly and is a great teammate.
