07/15/2014 - College PREP - Sacramento, CA Jamie is a junior SS with a well balanced skill set. Defensively, she makes quick, accurate throws, takes good angles to various balls, and covers ground both up the middle and in the 5-6 hole. By staying lower and driving more toward her target with her feet in her transition to throw and through the continued polishing of her backhand approach, Jamie's already above-average defensive abilities will keep getting better. Overall, Jamie has a confident approach to playing defense. As a hitter, she has natural power that allows her to produce hard contact to various hitting fields. She utilizes her lower half well and powers through the center of the ball making her a force to be reckoned with at the plate. She will benefit from bat extension, a controlled set up, and an aggressive approach to improve power and consistency, ultimately allowing her to access the entire field effectively. Overall, Jamie continues to refine her skill set with eagerness as she has a desire to strengthen her athletic ability. She will be an asset to any program.
01/17/2014 - 2014 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jamie is a sophomore shortstop / outfielder that was selected to play in the Pre-Season All-American game. At shortstop, Jamie uses an athletic setup with a controlled approach. When receiving the ball, Jamie uses two hands and has sure feeds. She will benefit from taking better angles to the balls in the holes. In the outfield, Jamie has an athletic fielding position with active footwork. She has clean hands with a quick exchange into her throwing position. By working on fielding the ball off of her front foot, Jamie will incorporate momentum into her throw. Offensively, Jamie uses an athletic set up with a smooth load and short stride to make a positive move to the ball. She has an on time lower half with a level swing path, which helps her make square contact. Jamie will benefit from keeping her hands above the ball through the zone. Overall, Jamie is very athletic and will continue to develop as a player.
10/23/2013 - Ronald McDonald Tournament - 16U Jamie returns to SF for another PD event as a talented SS with a well-balanced skill set. Defensively, she fields with sure hands, moves well to various balls and communicates well amongst teammates. Working on fielding the ball out in front will help her to improve her fielding exchange. Overall, she is consistent and has a confident approach to playing defense. At the plate, she uses an athletic setup with a back load, a square stride and keeps her balance centered before launching to the ball with a level swing. She shows potential for power and will benefit from explosive hips and bat speed to improve power on contact, ultimately allowing her to access the entire field effectively. Overall, Jamie works hard, demonstrates leadership and has solid athletic ability to help aid in her continued development as a player.
