01/15/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Javan continues to show as a prospect on the field. Behind the dish, she presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow her to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Pop times showed in the 2.20 with accuracy / carry (60 mph velocity) on her throws. At the plate she continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (69 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. She stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable, works hard to be the best player she can be, and is a team player.
02/09/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Monticello, IA Javan is a strong C prospect who continues to showcase her skills on the field. Behind the plate, Javan sits in a square stance and receives with soft hands. She makes a clean exchange and gains ground well on her throws, keeping them on-line to her target. She creates good angles when blocking and keeps the ball in front of her. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. She is smooth getting into her load and hits against a strong front side. She generates fast bat speed through the zone and shows great raw power. Overall, Javan is a talented prospect who should find success going into her freshman season.
07/31/2019 - Softball Factory World Series - Prospects Javan returns to another Softball Factory event displaying her strong skill set and impressing with her positive attitude. Behind the plate, she has soft hands when receiving the ball and is quick in her exchange on her throws to bases. She is strong in her base and works well with her pitchers. She frames each pitch in the strike zone and gets over top well on her blocks. She replaces her feet well and makes strong and accurate throws to second base. Offensively, Javan is open in her stance and comfortable in the box. She has a small load and fluid rhythm in the box. She keeps her barrel on plane to the ball and displays the ability to spray the ball to all parts of the field with good power.
02/10/2019 - College PREP - Monticello, IA Javan is a 2023 right handed catcher with a strong skill set. Defensively, she has a active feet and stays athletic in her catching position. She gets over top of the ball well on her blocks and gains ground in her throws to second base. She frames the ball well and has a strong arm to her target. Offensively, she has an open set up in the box and a soft stride to the ball. She loads back well in her lower half and drives the zone with her barrel. She is center in her balance and displays good weight transfer through her swing. Overall, she makes hard contact to her pull side and has great work ethic. If she continues to work hard, she will do what it takes to play at the next level.
