12/02/2012 - College PREP - Tampa, FL Jenna is an athletic SS with an advanced skill set. Defensively, she is a soft, sure handed defender with a quick release that produces accurate results. She keeps active feet and will benefit from playing lower and keeping her chest up in her prep step to avoid being too bent over. Jenna is solid around the bag on both ends of the DP and plays with a lot of energy. She has good feel for the position and looks comfortable moving to both her glove hand and back hand sides. At the plate, Jenna uses a square set up with a back load, no stride and keeps her balance centered before launching her short swing to the ball. An aggressive hitter, she displays quick bat speed and uses her lower half very well, but needs to consider creating more separation between her hands and front foot to improve balance and her contact point. She has a small hitch at times but recovers to hit the ball hard to all fields and will see more power production as she improves extension through the zone. Overall, Jenna is a very talented young player and should continue to seek quality reps and instruction to ensure her full potential is realized.
